Chrysoprase carving
description: This piece is carved from Western Australian chrysoprase (TUC). 3 1/2" tall I acquired this piece from William Larson of Pala International during March 2012. Chrysoprase is an variety of green chalcedony which owes its unique color to the minor nickel "contamination". Since chrysoprase does not form crystals, it can be best appreciated if carved. This carving was created by a Chinese craftsman during the 19th century. One repair is present.
