Azurite and malachite
description: 4 1/4" across LOCALITY: Lavender Pit, Copper Queen Mine, Bisbee, Cochise County, Arizona, USA This antique specimen consist of a druse of sparkling neon-blue azurite crystals. At Bisbee, azurite with this distinctive color contained a high zinc content. This deposit is also known for native copper specimens that have been found with hemimorphite. A fine example is preserved in the Flambea Museum of University of Arizona, Tucson. This piece was traded from Kevin Ward of Mobile, Alabama in mid 2014.
