description: 3" across LOCALITY: Tynagh Mine, Killimor, County Galway, Ireland This piece was bought from Gerry Carne of Adelaide, South Australia (state) in February 2014. This is a relatively large, high quality specimen of jackstraw cerussite from a somewhat obscure locality in the Irish midlands. The morphology of the interlocking cerussite crystals is the same as present in jackstraw cerussite specimens from the Flux Mine, Arizona and the Comet Mine, Tasmania. The somewhat higher luster of this piece distinguishes it from specimens from these two other cerussite localities. It was bought from a Canadian collection assembled between around 1960 and 1980.
