Stolzite with raspite
description: LOCALITY: Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia 1 3/4" across The stolzite crystals dominate this specimen. The are colorful and highly lustrous. One of them is damaged. The detraction of the remnants of the damaged crystal could probably be removed by some work in a mineral specimen preparation lab. Much microcrystalline raspite is also present on both the front and the back of this specimen. Broken Hill is the type locality for raspite and has produced the finest examples of this rare lead tungstate. This piece was definitely mined before 1900.
