description: LOCALITY: Xanda Mine, Virgem da Lapa, Minas Gerais, Brazil 5 1/4" tall Some of the world's finest blue topaz crystals occur in the pegmatite deposits of Minas Gerais, Brazil and this is one of them. It is a bold loose crystal which displays a chisel shaped termination that is well recognized in topaz crystals. It is translucent to transparent. The color is characteristic of fine topaz from this locality. Importantly, the "bottom" end of this crystal is a re-heeled termination. It is covered by cookeite. The absence of any contact points on this piece makes it much more desirable.
