Apophyllite over stellerite, India; 2 1/4" Ac

The Deccan basalts produce hundreds of thousands of mineral specimens every year. In the Deccan trap rock context, stellerite is a relatively rare mineral species. This specimen of stellerite is particularly delightful since the stellerite hemisphere is covered by crystals of colorless apophyllite. All of the faces are crystal faces as opposed to cleavage faces.
