Aurichalcite with calcite, Mapimi; 3" Ac

Aurichalcite is a carbonate of zinc and copper. Fine aurichalcite specimens are quite rare. The best display specimens in existence were found in a single pocket discovery at the '79 Mine, Arizona. The Ojuela Mine, Mapimi, Durango Province, Mexico is probably one of the two most important aurichalcite producing localities. This superb example was formerly in the collection of Professor Marcus Origlieri.
