Malachite ps azurite
description: LOCALITY: Tsumeb, Namibia (TUC) 4" tall This malachite pseudomorph after azurite is particularly fine for the following reasons: (a) It is considerably larger than average. (b) The color is pleasing. (c) The texture is pleasing. The surfaces shimmer in the light. (d) The association with the white and contrasting somewhat lustrous calcite crystals is appealing. They display different morphology to most calcite from Tsumeb which is rhombohedral in shape. (e) The general composition of this piece is pleasing. The white calcite does not "overpower" the malachite. This is the second finest malachite pseudomorph after azurite in my collection.
