Azurite, Milpillas Mine, Mexico; c 5" across

Azurite is a basic copper carbonate.  Azurite has been recorded at hundreds of copper deposits all over the world but is neve abundant enough to be a significant source of copper ore.  Azurite is one of the 20 most collected mineral species among collectors of esthetic mineral specimens.  This major azurite specimen would be in the top 0.1% of production from Milpillas.  It is arguably the greatest azurite producing locality on earth.
