description:
2" across

This wonderful azurite miniature is probably one of the most sculptural specimens of azurite in existence. It resembles a butterfly. One vertice has suffered a little damage. All of the surfaces on the reverse side of this piece are planer crystal faces.

Unlike most specimens of Sepon Mine azurite, this one is not a malachite pseudomorph after azurite with an azurite veneer over the pseudomorph. Hence, "The Butterfly" is dark-blue instead of neon-blue.

Photo by Matthew Webb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
