Azurite, Sepon Mine, Laos; 3" across

This is a fine representative specimen. The azurite crystals are infact malachite pseudomorphs after azurite with an azurite veneer. Hence, this specimen consist of a cluster of partial pseudomorphs. This Sepon piece is colourful because when light interacts with the specimen, the light passes through the veneer of azurite to be reflected by underlying partly reflective crystalline malachite.
