Smithsonite on coronadite
description:
LOCALITY: BHP Mine, Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia

4" across

This grey smithsonite specimen on coronadite is of fine quality since it is free of damage, relatively lustrous and there is high three dimensional relief between the "mountains" and "dips" on the specimen. It is very historical and would fit in any advanced collection of Australian mineral specimens.

I found it in a back drawer at Robert Lavinsky's well known Dallas warehouse during a visit to the United States during March 2012.
