Smithsonite on coronadite
description:
LOCALITY: BHP Mine, Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia

3" tall

This unusual stalactite has interesting provenance. It was part of the Broken Hill sub-collection of David Cowen of Adelaide, South Australia (state). David sold this sub-collection to Paul Melville of Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. Paul then resold this piece to Robert Sielecki of Melbourne. I bought it from him in early 2014 and re-sold it to Terry Enright of Melbourne. In October 2015, Terry re-re-sold this fine piece back to me. I was happy to reacquire it since I miss any collection piece that I have parted with.

Photo by Matthew Webb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
