description: 8" across Acquired via a trade with Robert Lavinsky in early 2010. Illustrated in "American Mineral Treasures". This is a wonderful barite with calcite specimen from one of America's top two barite producing mineral localities. Barite at Elk Creek occurs in Septarian nodules. One repair is present on this piece. The repair is at the join between the left-most barite crystal and the matrix. The repair is clean and not visible to the naked eye of the writer.
