Chrysocolla ps azurite, Western Australia (state)
description: 5" across LOCALITY: Whim Well Mine, Whim Creek, Pilbara Region, Western Australia (state), Australia This pseudomorph is from the Whim Well Mine, Whim Creek, Western Australia (state) and is pleasing for the following reasons: (a) The dominant pseudomorph on this piece is relatively large. (b) The pseudomorph is positioned in the middle of the matrix. (c) The piece displays three mineral species - namely chrysocolla after azurite, wulfenite and calcite. These are a "signature" for this locality. The piece could benefit from a minor trim although the crystal to matrix ratio is acceptable if the specimen is left "as is."
