Cassiterite with rutile included quartz

<br /><br />The quartz crystal is also included with an acicular crystal of rutile. It is an unusual mineral combination.

<br />This piece was bought from Chris Oliver of Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia from his tail gating stall at the Australian Gemboree when it was held in Bathurst during the Easter long weekend in 2011.  He acquired the piece from Warren Somerville of Bathurst, New South Wales.  Somerville acquired it from the late Doreen Chapman who owned a fine quality collection of thumbnail and miniature sized mineral specimens.</p>
