Copper in calcite overgrown by analcite
description:
LOCALITY: Keweenaw Peninsula, Michigan, United States

3" across

The calcite crystal is colorless, translucent and heavily included with untarnished crystalline native copper. Most of the copper included calcite crystal is encrusted with small analcite crystals. The association of these three species is uncommon. The piece is also free of damage and the crystal is relatively large.
