Copper after cuprite, Australia; c 2 1/2" across

This pseudomorph is from the Blockade Mine in the Mount Isa district of Queensland, Australia.  Gerald Pauley bought it from Rudy Herr of Adelaide, South Australia in 1972.  Herr was an opal dealer.  Gerald resold this piece to Brad van Scriver in 1973 during one of his many visits to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.  After this piece was imported into the United States, it became part of the collection of Kent England of Merced, California and it remained in the England collection until at least 1999.  After Kent sold his collection, this piece was then acquired by the late Rukin Jelks.  He was one of the world's top private collectors.  Gene Schlepp worked with the Jelks collection as part of a deceased estate.  I bought it from Gene Schlepp in early 2017.  This specimen is important in terms of its value to a suite of Australian or Queensland mineral specimens.  It would also be an important mineral specimen to a pseudomorph collector, native copper collector or a collector of copper containing mineral species.
