Cornetite, Star of Congo Mine, Katanga; 14" ac

Cornetite reached its ultimate development at The Star of Congo Mine, near Lubumbashi (formerly Elizabethville), Katanga. This is one of the largest and finest specimens of cornetite in existence. At other copper mines where cornetite is found, it normally only occurs as microcrystals. Cornetite is a copper bearing phosphate species.
