description:
LOCALITY: Puiva, Polar Urals, Russia

2 5/8" tall

Ex Star van Scriver and Robert Sielecki collections

The smokey quartz is gemmy and lustrous with some imternal imperfections. The ferroaxinite is lustrous and with complete crystal faces. It is not transparent. It is translucent to opaque in places. It is on a matrix of crystallized white feldspar. It is a "double sided specimen." I have never seen another like it.

Robert Sielecki of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia traded this jewel out to me in 2014. Robert spent much time working in eastern Europe during the early to mid 1990's.

Photo by Matthew Webb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
