Malachite after azurite #2
description:
LOCALITY: Tsumeb, Namibia

2" tall

This is the smallest of the Tsumeb malachite pseudomorphs after azurite in my collection. Although only small, it is appealing since the color is strong and the pseudomorphed crystal is sharp. The surface texture is "soft looking" and has an attractive banded appearance to it. The small size of this piece and the fact is is only a loose crystal limits the value of this piece. It is only an inexpensive specimen.

Photo by Matthew Webb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
