description:
LOCALITY: Dal'negorsk, Primorjski Kraj, Russia

2 3/4" across

It is a 360 degree specimen - i.e. no damage can be seen on this piece from the front, back, any of the sides or the top for that matter.

The side faces of the calcite twins of this piece are as lustrous as polished glass and it is possible to see through these faces into the gemmy interior of the calcite cluster. The end faces of the calcite twins are frosted, lightly striated and display an almost satiny sheen. This cluster of calcite twins is on a sphalerite rich matrix.

This piece was bought from Robert Sielecki in 2014.

Photo by Matthew Webb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
