Calcite #2
description:
LOCALITY: Rudney, Kazakhstan

10" across

Five of the crystals display eye visible damage. Most of the damage is around the tips. The piece is in very good condition considering the fragility of the species. One can only ponder why extensive contacting does not present on this piece.

The piece was traded from Robert Sielecki in late 2013. He acquired it from Robert Lavinsky. He believed that the specimen was from Rudney for some reason. A creditable literature reference is still needed before I can confidently write a locality for this piece.

Matthew Webb photo
