Ferroaxinite #2
description:
LOCALITY: Puiva, Polar Urals, Russia

2 1/2" long

The ferroaxinite crystal is pristine. The faces are as lustrous as polished glass and all of the edges and vertices of the crystal are without even the most minor hint of damage. The crystal is gemmy and transparent around the edges. The ferroaxinite crystal is perched on a minor amount of rock matrix. The piece would lend itself better to being mounted vertically rather than horizontally as shown.

This piece was bought from Ted Scholz of Stone Hut, South Australia in 2013. I had previously sold the piece to Ted in 1994 via a VHS video catalog after I had bought the piece from Robert Sielecki of Melbourne.

Matthew Webb photo
