Cuprite with malachite veneer

Onganja cuprite specimens are distinctive in size and habit and their characteristic malachite veneer. Other Onganja cuprite specimens have had the malachite veneer removed with acid treatment. These acid treated specimens have mostly not been accepted in the market. <br /><br />This fine specimen was part of the mineral collection of Warren Somerville of Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia.
