Fluorite on and inside quartz cast

<br /><br />This specimen consist of a quartz cast which contains green octahedral fluorite crystals. The exterior surface of the cast is covered by another generation of fluorite crystals that are pale purple.  This piece was formerly in the collection of Professor Stephen Smale.  It was traded from the Smale collection during a visit to Hong Kong in October 2015.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">To my knowledge, only two fine quality casts of this type have been preserved.  The other is in the Smale collection.  </p>
