Dravite (tourmaline) crystal
description:
LOCALITY: central Tanzania

1 1/8" tall

This is a fine, gemmy dravite crystal. The steep pyramidal termination is sharp and the crystal is glassy lustered. I traded it from Robert Sielecki in around 2011. Since Tanzania is home to many gem crystal deposits and since dravite also occurs at more than one locality in Tanzania, the locality disclosed for this piece cannot be precise.

This piece was bought from Robert Sielecki. I cannot remember the date it was bought.

Photo by Matthew Webb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
