Pyrite
LOCALITY:  Huaron, Peru

6 1/2" Across

This piece consist of a cluster of relatively complex, lustrous crystals of pyrite.  The underside of this piece is covered with white barite crystals.  Most Peruvian pyrite is found with barite and some of it is completely encrusted by the latter species which is almost always removed.  This good representative pyrite specimen was bought from Gus Paskalis of Adelaide, South Australia in around 2015.
