description:
LOCALITY: Rapid Creek, Yukon Region, Canada

2 1/4" tall

This species reaches its ultimate development at this locality. Unlike most other examples of this rare mineral, this one displays practically no eye visible damage. The crystals of this specimen are also large and well defined with the luster of polished glass. There is also a little micro-crystalline siderite present on this piece.

I would like to grow a collection of fine Canadian mineral specimens. Canada is a country blessed with so many important mineral localities yet I have very few good Canadian mineral specimens as part of my collection.

This piece was traded from Andy Seibel of Tehachapi, California via the mail in early 2014.

Photo by Matthew Webb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
