Fluorapatite, Ping Wu Mine, Sichuan, China
description: 4" ac This high quality specimen of fluorapatite from a locality made famous by scheelite, cassiterite and tabular aquamarine would fit into any sub-collection of fine quality worldwide apatite specimens. The dominant pale pink crystal has smaller crystals around it. All of the crystals are gemmy with faces that are as lustrous as polished glass. The dominant crystal is close to the middle of the matrix. The matrix is covered by silvery muscovite so the contrast between the matrix and crystals is pleasing in terms of both color and texture.
