Spessartine with galena, Broken Hill, Australia

This jewel is 3" across. Broken Hill is the only mineral locality on the planet where the combination of spessartine with galena occurred. The primary ore of Broken Hill produced a unique assemblage of manganese bearing silicates including spessartine, rhodonite, bustamite, pyroxmangite, hedenbergite and johannsenite. Although I find all Broken Hill mineral specimens desirable, these silicates are among my favorites. I am always interested in buying any good to elite quality Broken Hill mineral specimens. If you would like to sell your fine quality Broken Hill pieces at a fair price, email me at I also barter for fine quality Broken Hill mineral specimens.
