Ferroaxinite
description:
LOCALITY: Puiva, Polar Urals, Russia

2 1/8" across

This is a wonderful "floater" group of wonderful quality. All of the edges, vertices and faces of this crystal group are in perfect condition. The interior of the crystals are transparent to translucent but tending towards transparent particularly around the edges.

This fine "floater" was formerly in the collection of Brad van Scriver. I traded it from Robert Lavinsky in 2010. I then traded it out to Professor Stephen Smale during a visit to Hong Kong in late 2013.

Photo by Matthew Webb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
