description:
LOCALITY: Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia

3" tall

I bought this piece from an anonymous party who lived in central Victoria in 1994. I then traded it out to Cal Graeber late in 1994. He soon sold the piece to Irv Brown of San Diego, California. Irv resold the specimen to James Gastineau of Highland, California in early 1998. The fine piece remains part of the James Gastineau mineral collection.

This piece was also featured in much of the advertising for the "Minerals of Australia" themed TGMS in 2007. The piece was pictured in several advertisements for the show that appeared in "Rocks and Minerals" magazine and elsewhere. In 1998, the advertisement for "Classic Mineral Videos" in "The Mineralogical Record" magazine pictured this piece. "Classic Mineral Videos" was the video group that I founded and which also included Robert Lavinsky and Robert Sielecki.
