Malachite after azurite #1
description:
LOCALITY: Tsumeb, Namibia

3" tall

This piece is the best of my malachite pseudomorphs after azurite from Tsumeb. It is distinguished by:

(a) The intensity of color.

(b) The "soft" looking texture on the surface.

(c) The freedom from damage.

(d) Pseudomorphs are generally not as sharp as the crystals which they replaced. This pseudomorph is very well defined.

This combination of esthetic traits makes this pseudomorph a very high quality one.

This piece was bought from Daniel Trincillo at the Tucson Show in 2007.

Photo by Matthew Webb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
